Artabe named to CSC Academic All-America Team

CSC Academic All-America® Swiming & Diving Team

Irene Artabe was named to the NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-America® First Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Nominees must have competed in 75 percent of the team's competitions or finish in the top eight at a conference meet or participate in the NAIA National Championships, be sophomores or older, and maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.

Artabe, one of just nine named to the team, is the fourth member of the SAU women's swimming & diving team named to the CSC Academic All-America® Team, joining Andrea Adam (2020, 2022), Bethany Anderson (2021) and Leyre Antonanzas (2023, 2024, 2025). She is the second Bee to earn the honor this year alongside SAU women's basketball standout Abby Wolter.

The All-America Team honor comes after Artabe earned CSC Academic All-District recognition in each of the last three years. The senior Industrial Engineering major from Camargo, Spain, has also been named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and to the Liberal Arts Conference all-academic team.

In the pool, it was another All-American season for Artabe. She finished eighth in the 100 fly at the NAIA Championships in a time of 57.81. She was an All-American in the 100 back in each of the previous two seasons. Artabe also competed in the 50 free and 100 back at the 2026 National Championships.

Artabe was named the Women's Swimmer of the Liberal Arts Conference Championship this season after winning individual conference titles in the 200 IM (2:09.64), 100 fly (58.25) and 100 back (59.01).
