Antonanzas named to CSC Academic All-America Team for third time
CSC Academic All-America Women's Swimming & Diving Team
For the third straight year, Leyre Antonanzas was named to the NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-America First Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.
Antonanzas, a senior from Pamplona, Spain, is majoring in Behavioral Neuropsychology at St. Ambrose. She is a five-time individual NAIA All-American in the pool and a member of three All-American relay teams. This year, Antonanzas was named the Women's Swimmer of the Liberal Arts Conference Championships after winning the 200-yard backstroke, 200-yard individual medley and 400-yard individual medley and being part of three first-place relays. She holds four individual school records (200-yard backstroke, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard IM, 400-yard IM) and is a part of five school-record relays (200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard freestyle relay, 800-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay).
