St. Ambrose to open NAIA National Tournament in Spring Arbor, Mich. with Oakland City (Ind.)
St. Ambrose has been awaiting the NAIA Selection Show for women's soccer after their 2-1 come back victory over the Olivet Nazarene Tigers this past Wed. in the CCAC Conference Tournament Championship. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the pairings for the 2024 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship earlier this afternoon. St. Ambrose will travel to Spring Arbor, Mich. next Thursday, Nov. 21 to play the Might Oaks of Oakland City (Ind.). Kickoff is to be determined at Cougar Soccer Complex in Spring Arbor, Mich.
The Bees head into this match on an 11 game win-streak and with the CCAC regular-season championship and CCAC Tournament championship in their back pocket. This will be a new series match since in St. Ambrose women's soccer history, the Bees have never seen the Mighty Oaks for a match up. But, Oakland City's Head Coach, Jamie Bladen, is all familar with the back-to-back CCAC champions as he was the former Head Coach for both the men's and women's programs at Cardinal Strich University, located in Milwaukee, Wis., before the sudden closure of their university in May of 2023.
St. Ambrose and Oakland City will play in the first round on Thursday and the winner of that match will play Spring Arbor University in the second round the following Sat. All start times are to be determined. The second round winners will connect in Pensacola, Fla. at the NAIA National Championship final site. The final site is Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex with games being played Dec. 2-9.
