St. Ambrose finds themselves in the CCAC Tournament Championship match

The Bees have had a red hot final half of the 2024-25 season as they are on a ten-game win-streak to find themselves in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship match. SAU will play host to conference rival, the Olivet Nazarene Tigers, out of Bourbonnais, Ill. The Bees rolled past Holy Cross with a 3-0 decision while Olivet Nazarene dominated St. Francis 5-1 to meet and play for the rights of the Tournament title. The No. 1 seeded Bees and No. 2 seeded Tigers will battle it out in Davenport, Iowa tomorrow evening.

Earlier this season, St. Ambrose conceded a loss to the Tigers 4-1 after initially being up a goal in the sixth minute of play. Then, the Tigers netted three unanswered scores in the Bees' defeat. Since that match, SAU has rebounded and only conceded three goals throughout 11 matches to remain undefeated in the month of October and November thus far.

In the 2023-24 season, the Bees were in a very similar situation as they suffered a 1-0 loss to ONU in regular-season play, but continued on to be crowned as the CCAC regular-season conference champions. In the CCAC Tournament, St. Ambrose flipped the script and defeated the Tigers 1-0 to earn the Tournament title as well. This season, the Bees are looking to lean on their experience and capture the Tournament title once more.

St. Ambrose is scheduled to host the CCAC Tournament championship match at St. Vincent's Athletic Complex tomorrow evening. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. and entrance into the match will be charged ($5 for students and $7 for adults-SAU students with a Bee Card will be admitted free of charge).

Sisterhood of the Bees will also be selling hot cocoa for $3 a cup.
