Bio

Payton Woods is the Recruiting Coordinator for the St. Ambrose track & field and cross country programs. He also serves as the throws coach for the track & field team.

Woods brings a strong foundation of competitive success and a commitment to athlete development to the coaching staff. A graduate of St. Ambrose, Woods earned his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. During his athletic career, he specialized in the hammer throw, where he became a three-time conference champion, a two-time National qualifier, and earned First Team All-Conference honors a total of eight times.

Now an NSCA certified personal trainer, Woods combines technical expertise with a passion for helping athletes reach their full potential. Since stepping into coaching, he has already made a meaningful impact—guiding an athlete to a conference championship and a National qualification.
