St. Ambrose runs well at CCAC Championships

This weekend, the Bees competed at the final race of the season. With cooler temps, an ideal course, and the utmost confidence to get personal records, both the SAU men's and women's teams were ready to leave everything out there from gun to tape.

On the women's side, Kaitlyn Knoche placed third overall with a time of 22:28, unofficially securing her place individually to the NAIA National Championships. Allison Hein, coming in second on the team, ran a PR of a 23:04 and Lexi Minard ran a 23:30. These top three finishers (Knoche, Hein, and Minard) earned all-conference honors by placing in the top 15 with Hein finishing in ninth and Minard in 14th.

Adeline Smith finished shortly after Minard with a total time of 23:39. Finishing the top-5 individuals on the team was Lauren Johnson with a time of 23:59. Carlie Woolm, sixth on the team, ran a 24:54 and Alexis Havercamp ran a 25:41. Maurina Fahrenkrug ran a 26:11, Eileen Elenteny with a 29:25, Emma Carter running a 29:59, and Gaby Gonzalez with a 34:26. As a team they ran the third-fastest team time in school history (behind their own records set this year) and attained their lowest team score since joining the CCAC.

On the men's side, starting with some personal records from today which includes Jack Degner with a 12-second PR (29:02) and Kevin Chaney with a five-second PR (27:44). Leading the Bees, Ross Willerth placed 11th in the conference championship, running a 25:56. That earned Willerth all-conference recognition.

Chris Miserendino, Will Dowda, and Ian Eller all finished one after another with a total of only 11 seconds separating each runner with times of 26:29, 26:38, and 26:40, respectively.
