Beitzel and Marques named second team all-CCAC

Grace Beitzel and Ines Marques received second team all-conference honors as the CCAC announced its women's volleyball postseason awards today.
This marked the second straight season Beitzel was named to the second team. The outside hitter from Geneva, Ill., had a tremendous senior season, leading the Bees in kills (321), kills per set (3.34) and hitting percentage (.205). Her kills per set average was the third-best mark in the league. She put down double-digit kills in 18 of the 27 matches she played, including a season-best 21 kills against St. Francis on Sept. 30. Beitzel had a pair of double-doubles, finishing with 19 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 win over West Virginia Tech on Sept. 6 and collecting 17 kills and 16 digs in a five-set win over Columbia (Mo.) on Oct. 25.
She finished the season with 99 digs, 31 total blocks and six service aces.
In her four-year St. Ambrose career, Beitzel posted 603 kills, 151 digs and 49 total blocks.
Marques, a junior setter from Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, led the entire conference with 823 assists this season. Her average of 7.09 assists per set was the second-best mark in the CCAC. Marques was credited with 20-or-more assists in 24 matches and topped 30 assists in a match nine times. She registered a season-best 52 assists against St. Francis on Sept. 30. She also led the team with 46 aces and was second with 208 digs.
In just two years, Marques has recorded 1408 career assists, good for eighth all-time in program history.
St. Ambrose was also recognized as the conference's Champion of Character Team for 2025.
