Beitzel named CCAC Attacker of the Week

CHICAGO --- Viterbo University's Maddie Connor (Germantown, Wis.) collected her second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week award of the season on Tuesday, while University of St. Francis' Ann Simon (Beecher, Ill.) and St. Ambrose University's Grace Beitzel (Geneva, Ill.) each gained weekly accolades for the first time, the league office has announced.

Attacker of the Week recognition went to Beitzel, who fell just short of hitting at a .300 clip (.293), while averaging 3.63 kills per set in a busy five-match week. The senior outside hitter's top effort of the week came on Saturday when she produced 19 kills, 14 digs, 12 receptions and three aces in a four-set victory over West Virginia University Tech. All but the passing numbers were her highest totals on the week.

Beitzel also authored double-figure kill totals in three other matches, including 15 in a four-set loss to Defiance College (Ohio) on Friday. Defensively, she provided 60 passes in 63 attempts and an average of 1.2 digs per set.

St. Ambrose went 2-3 on the week and is 4-6 overall.
