CHICAGO --- Viterbo University's Jalen Hinzman (Spring Valley, Wis.), St. Ambrose University's Adriana Diaz (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Saint Xavier University's Samantha Hovey (Mackinaw, Ill.) have notched the first set of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week awards for the 2025 season, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.

Collecting double-digit dig totals in each of her four matches last week, Diaz was honored as the CCAC Defender of the Week. She averaged 4.0 digs per set with 68 over her 17 games played.

The junior outside hitter closed out the week with a 24-dig match in a four-set loss to Clarke University (Iowa) on Saturday. In that contest, she also totaled seven kills.

One day earlier, Diaz produced nine of her 11 aces on the week with five – and 19 digs – in a five-set win over York University (Neb.) and another four in a three-set setback to Waldorf University (Iowa).

St. Ambrose went 1-3 on its opening weekend.
