St. Ambrose earns 7-0 victory over MSOE
St. Ambrose dominated singles play in picking up a 7-0 dual win at MSOE Sunday afternoon. The Bees won all six singles matches in straight sets, losing just 10 total games.
Jenna Smithmeyer and Yeva Shershan led the way with neither player dropping a game. Smithmeyer's 6-0, 6-0 win came at No. 4 singles while Shershan won by the same score at No. 5.
Paige Owens lost just one game in her 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Chiara Aguirre Cortez earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at the top of the lineup. Julia Turek won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Hayden Evans picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
SAU won two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Cortez and Evans paired for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles while Smithmeyer and Owens won 6-2 at No. 3. The No. 2 team of Turek and Shershan fell 6-3.
St. Ambrose (5-8) will return to CCAC play with a dual at St. Francis Wednesday.
