Bees honor Seniors, Drop pair of home matchups

St. Ambrose hosted a pair of home contests, jumping out to a strong start against Culver-Stockton before falling, and later dropping a matchup to Ottawa.

The Bees opened strong, scoring four first-quarter goals to take an early 4-2 lead. Maeve Flynn led the charge early with two goals, while Katie McGlynn and Raegan Dotterer also found the net.

St. Ambrose continued to battle in the second quarter, briefly reclaiming the lead at 7-6 after goals from Flynn, McGlynn, and Karsen Jummati. However, Culver-Stockton closed the half on a run to take an 8-7 lead into halftime.

The Wildcats carried that momentum into the second half, outscoring the Bees 10-2 over the final two quarters to secure an 18-9 win.

Reina Chrobak and Saige Carlton split time in the goal for the Bees, tallying 11 saves.

vs. Ottawa (April 4)

Ottawa controlled the pace throughout in an 18-6 win over the Bees.

The Braves jumped out early with a 5-1 first-quarter lead and extended it to 10-3 at halftime. Karsen Jummati and Katie McGlynn each scored in the first half, while Sara Casillas added a goal late in the second quarter.

St. Ambrose showed fight in the second half, with Jummati scoring twice more to complete a hat trick and Maeve Flynn adding a goal in the fourth quarter. However, Ottawa used a seven-goal fourth quarter to pull away.

Defensively, Saige Carlton kept the Bees in the game with an impressive 21-save performance.
