Bees post strong second round to wrap up fall season

The Bees wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule on a good note, shooting a final day 359 at the William Penn Statesmen Invitational at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.

That was a 17-shot improvement from the team's 376 Monday. St. Ambrose finished with a 735 to place seventh.

Gabrielle Langlois led Tuesday's charge with an 85, the Bees' best round of the event. That came on the heels of a 93, leaving Langlois with a 178, good for 16th place.

Anna Hurning also earned a top-20 finish. She shot rounds of 91 and 90 for a 181 and 20th place. 

While Langlois climbed 10 spots on the leaderboard Tuesday, Aleanna Mendoza had the biggest score improvement. Mendoza followed an opening-round 98 with an 89 for a 187. She jumped eight spots to finish 29th.

Ellie Rude fired consecutive 95s for a 190. Addy Heineke (97-96) and Tavia Dowell (96-97) each finished with a 193.

Bellevue won the team title with a 676 (336-340) and Clarke's Amalia Ortega claimed individual medalist honors with a 154 (74-80).
