SAU picks up two wins at Calumet

The Bees bounce back from being swept earlier in the week with a sweep of their own against the Crimson Wave. Calumet struck first in game one scoring in their half of the third inning. St. Ambrose tied it up in the top of the fifth inning when Justice Krus (1 H, 1 RBI, 1 2B) came in to pinch hit. She drove the ball out to left field which brought in Parker Leonard (1 R, 2 H) from first base. The Bees ran away with the lead in the following inning. Mady Reed (1 R, SAC) lead off the inning with a walk then made her way around the bases on a steal and a Mya Millsaps sacrifice fly. Reed scored on a fielder's choice that also resulted in Ellie Downing (1 R, 1 RBI) being safe at first. In the next at-bat, Becca Haag (1 R, 1 H, 1 RBI) sent the ball out to center field sending Downing across home plate. Haag later scored in a Reagan Engberg (1 H, 1 RBI) hit out to left field.

Leah Maro pitched a complete game with 9 strikeouts.

The Bees struck early in game two. Reed (2 R, 1 H, 1 2B) reached first base safely on a bunt to start the game. Kylee Claypool (1 RBI) hit the ball to the third baseman resulting in an error advancing all the runners around the bases and bringing Reed across the plate. Reed once again rounded the base paths by driving a double out to left field, advancing to third base on an error, and scurrying home on a stolen base attempt by Millsaps. Kylee Vaughn (1 H, 1 RBI) comes into the game and lines a single out to center field to bring in Downing in the top of the fifth inning. Krus and Downing each collected two hits in the game.

Ada Boysen pitched seven innings and sat down 10 Crimson Wave batters.
