Free shirts for first 100 SAU students as Bees begin postseason push Tuesday

St. Ambrose will open postseason play Tuesday by hosting Viterbo in a first-round match of the CCAC Tournament at Lee Lohman Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The first 100 SAU students who attend the match will receive a free t-shirt.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. St. Ambrose students are admitted free.

The Bees enter the tournament as the conference's No. 4 seed. SAU is 19-11 overall and finished with an 8-6 league mark.

Viterbo is 9-23 overall and was 6-8 in the CCAC to enter the postseason as the No. 5 seed.

The Bees defeated the V-Hawks in both regular-season meetings - a 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18 decision in Davenport, Iowa, on Feb. 20, and a 30-32, 25-9, 25-14, 25-14 victory in La Crosse, Wis., on Mar. 19.

The winner will play a tournament semifinal at regular-season champion Saint Xavier (26-3) Thursday night. Governors State will await the winner of the Olivet Nazarene-Judson match in the other semifinal.

The championship will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. at the site of the highest remaining seed. The winner of the tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament Apr. 28-May 2 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
