St. Ambrose struggles in loss at No. 1 Grand View
St. Ambrose managed just 138 yards of total offense in a 63-3 loss at No. 1 Grand View Saturday afternoon.
The Bees picked up only eight first downs, and the team's lone points of the game came on a Harvey Doleman 43-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Grand View (4-0, 3-0 Heart) scored the first 21 points and never looked back. The Vikings rolled up 585 yards of offense with 381 of those yards coming through the air and the other 204 yards on the ground.
Alec Ponder completed nine passes for 106 yards. Caleb Swanson also had a four-yard completion.
Joseph Spaulding hauled in five catches for 69 yards. Jaylen Brazzle had three receptions for 28 yards. Kameron Bohnsack and Brennan Wilson each caught one pass.
The Bees struggled to get anything on the ground. Tre Jenkins led the rushing attack with 18 yards, but that came on 20 attempts. Maximo Vasquez rushed for 14 yards and Jaedyn Price added 10 yards.
Brock Mason led the defense with six total tackles. Caden McDermott was in on four tackles. Rolando Sepulveda, Caulier Cason, Billy Mutz, Kye Krofta and Simi Afolarin were each credited with three tackles. Djabril McNabb posted SAU's lone sack.
St. Ambrose (1-4, 0-1 Heart) will visit Missouri Valley next Saturday.
