Meyers, Schelonka named all-conference as SAU takes second at Heart Tournament
St. Ambrose finished second at the second annual Heart Esports Rocket League Conference Tournament Championship Saturday.
SAU, the defending conference champions, finished 2-2 in the double-elimination tournament hosted by Park University.
Entering as the No. 2 seed, the Bees dispatched Graceland 4-0 to start the day. St. Ambrose fell to the top seed Missouri Valley 4-0 but kept its run alive with a 4-1 victory over Central Methodist.
But SAU's run ended in the championship round with another 4-0 loss to Missouri Valley. MVC finished a perfect 6-0 in the regular season and went undefeated in the conference tournament.
Two Bees were also recognized as the Heart announced its all-conference selections. Matthew Meyers was named first team all-conference while Kyle Schelonka was selected to the second team.
