St. Ambrose places 10 on NAIA Cheer All-American Team
Taye Owten and Savannah Schumacher led a swarm of 10 Bees named to the NAIA Competitive Cheer All-American Team.
Otwen, the 2024 NAIA co-Cheerleader of the Year, and Schumacher both earned first team honors. Four Bees were named to the second team and four more were placed on the third team.
For Otwen, this marked the fourth straight year the senior from Itasca, Ill., was selected as a first team All-American.
Schumacher, a senior from Joliet, Ill., is also a four-time All-American having earned first-team recognition each of the last three years after grabbing second-team honors in 2023.
Haley Scholbrock was named an All-American for the third time to lead SAU's second-team choices. Mikal Honeycutt and Ryan Czech, the American Midwest Conference's (AMC) Newcomers of the Year in 2025 and 2026, respectively, were also named to the second team, along with Jaylen Taylor.
Sydnee Horstman, who has been on the NAIA All-American list in each of the last four years, was named to the third team. JP Elder made an All-American team for the third straight year with his third-team selection. Chloe Fulcher, the AMC Performer and Freshman of the Year in 2025, and Teylar Chatman, the 2026 AMC Freshman of the Year, rounded out SAU's third-team selections.
All-Americans are determined by the Cheer All-America Committee (comprised of five coaches and one administrator). Each of the three teams is made up, by score, of 18 student-athletes, unless multiple athletes are tied for the 18th spot on a team.
The individual accolades cap another highly-successful season for the Bees.
St. Ambrose narrowly missed claiming its fourth-straight NAIA National Championship by placing third overall.
