Bio

Rachel Rivard is the current Band Director at Chestnut Middle School in Springfield, Massachuetts. She attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she recieved her Bachelor of Muisc Education Degree and is currently in pursuit of a Master of Music Education Degree with an Autism Concentrstion at The Boston Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts. As a three year Drum Major for the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band, she facilitated visual and musical rehearsals of the 400 memeber band instructing beginners and advanced performers.

She has worked with the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy for five years helping leaders in band and Drum and Bugle Corps develop teaching techniques, conducting, and marching skills. She is a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota, and has designed and implemented band camps throughout the Northeastern United States.
