Name: Morgan O'Malley

Sport: Women's Lacrosse

Year in School: Senior

Major: Nursing

Reason for Nomination: 

A dedicated senior leader, she has been a cornerstone of our women's lacrosse team while excelling as a nursing major, demonstrating the same commitment, resilience, and compassion both on the field and in her pursuit of caring for others.

What is your favorite moment of the season so far?

My favorite moment so far is definitely just watching the team become better and mesh more and more after each practice and game.

What is your favorite post-match/game/meet meal? 

The night before a game I usually have pasta, grilled chicken, broccoli, and alfredo sauce mixed.

Favorite pre-game/meet/match song?

Nokia by Drake 

Who inspired you to begin playing this sport? 

My little brother, Nolan, who started playing lacrosse before me, and my parents who supported me with the transition to a new sport. 

If you could play another sport, what would it be? 

Men's lacrosse or Pickleball

What is one fun fact about you? 

Before and during lacrosse games, I only drink apple juice accompanied by an applesauce at half-time.

Reason for Nomination: 

An All-American junior, Joe exemplifies what it means to be a Hive Highlight Member through his relentless work ethic, disciplined approach, and strong leadership that elevates everyone around him.

What is your favorite moment of the season so far?

Getting my first All-American medal in the weight throw at indoor nationals in Gainesville, Florida. Close second would be watching our 4x8 guys run the 3rd-best time in NAIA history at nationals.

What is your favorite post-match/game/meet meal? 

Texas Roadhouse 20oz bone-in ribeye or D' Lua birria tacos.

Favorite pre-game/meet/match song?

Wherever I May Roam by Metallica.

Who inspired you to begin playing this sport? 

My parents persuaded me to first do track in middle school. Then my private throwing coach, Sean in high school, and ultimately Coach Mulder got in contact with me when I came here for a regular visit.

If you could play another sport, what would it be? 

Football, I played it at Ambrose for my first two years. But don't underestimate my sand volleyball or slow-pitch softball skills

What is one fun fact about you? 

I used to run in high school. I am part of the 4x800m indoor record team for my high school.

Sport: Women's Tennis

Year in School: Freshman

Major: Secondary Education- English Language Arts

Reason for Nomination: 

A standout freshman, she has made an immediate impact on SAU's women's tennis program while excelling in the classroom, showcasing dedication, composure, and a strong foundation for a successful collegiate career.

What is your favorite moment of the season so far?

Traveling with the team to Hilton Head, SC for spring break.

What is your favorite post-match/game/meet meal? 

Olive Garden

Who inspired you to begin playing this sport? 

My family first encouraged me to play tennis. I took lessons and learned the sport at the same time as two of my sisters.

If you could play another sport, what would it be? 

Track or Volleyball 

What is one fun fact about you? 

I have been in the cast of 9 musicals.
